Commercial Service Manager

Full-Time | Canonsburg, PA (Western Pennsylvania)

$95,000-$125,000 base salary + performance bonus | Company vehicle | Year-round work

Controlled Climate Systems is a second-generation, family-owned mechanical contractor serving Western Pennsylvania for 50+ years. We're known for craftsmanship, reliability, and doing things the right way--no shortcuts, no drama, no treating techs like numbers.

We're hiring a Commercial Service Manager to run and grow our commercial service operation: leading technicians, strengthening systems, improving response times, and delivering a service experience that keeps customers and technicians loyal.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll own the performance and day-to-day execution of our commercial service department across Western PA.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support commercial service technicians (coaching, field support, escalation handling)
• Partner with dispatch/office team to improve scheduling, communication, and on-time response
• Drive consistent quality: clean diagnostics, correct repairs, professional customer experience
• Manage customer relationships (facility teams, property managers, GC partners) and resolve issues fast
• Review service tickets, job notes, time/materials, and closeouts for accuracy and profitability
• Quote and oversee repairs, replacements, and small projects (T&M and quoted work)
• Improve department systems: documentation standards, parts readiness, callbacks reduction, on-call structure
• Track and improve KPIs (billable efficiency, margins, first-time fix rate, customer satisfaction)
• Enforce safety, code compliance, and company standards on every call
• Recruit, onboard, and develop talent as the department scales

What We're Looking For

We want a steady leader who can raise the bar, support techs, and bring order to service operations--without ego.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in commercial HVAC/mechanical service (strong technical background preferred)
• 2+ years in leadership (lead tech, supervisor, service manager, service operations)
• Strong troubleshooting knowledge (RTUs, split systems, boilers/hydronics; controls a plus)
• Comfortable quoting work and understanding service profitability drivers
• Clear communicator who can handle customer escalations professionally
• Comfortable using service software/mobile apps for dispatch, job tracking, and reporting
• Valid driver's license with a clean or nearly clean record
